Boxflex TC20 Treadmill Review

treadmill Doctor Note :

This is really a quality unit from Bowflex. It is a workout that is unparalleled on any treadmill. The exception to that rule would be a workout on one of the Incline Trainers.

The highest end model when compared with the rest of the lineup is a heck of a machine. When you compare it to treadmills in this price range it is just so-so. You'd be better off with an Incline Trainer.

The Bowflex TC 20 is a solid TreadClimber. It will give you a workout that you will never be able to replicate with any standard treadmill. It's better than any of the other TreadmillClimbers made by Bowflex. At $3,299, the value is lacking a little bit. We would suggest getting an Incline Trainer, instead. It will give you the variety in your workout with better quality for the money.

The walking area is smaller than you will get with most treadmills. Due to the nature of the workout, both the length and width will be less than what you are accustomed to. In particular, it can feel a bit narrow due to the fact that the tread is split in half to provide an individual tread for each foot. This is a sacrifice you have to make to get the unique workout it provides.

The motor is okay. Standard treadmills will provide much more power producing capabilities in this price range, but you won't need that with a TreadClimber. Some are even non-motorized. Speeds of up to 4.5 mph are attainable. You won't need to go any faster than that.

A very impressive cushioning system comes on this model. The motion this machine provides helps in that regard. Since it imitates an elliptical, it provides a much lower impact workout than a normal treadmill would. It's rare to find a more forgiving running surface on a treadmill in this price range.

As far as projected reliability is concerned, this machine is pathetic. If you know where to look, you can find some sub-$1,000 treadmills that have a longer life expectancy. The quality of parts used is also disappointing in this price range.

The warranty on the Bowflex TC 20 is bad. The entire machine is covered for 3 years. You really deserve better coverage considering the fact that this TreadClimber costs more than $3,000.
