How long will the Xterra SB120 Recumbent last?

The Xterra SB120 Recumbent Bike has a lightweight frame and can only hold users up to 250 lbs. maximum weight. It has a rather disappointing low warranty with 1 year on the frame and 90 days on parts. The SB120 is made for light use and there is a possibility of it lasting a year or so with proper care such as keeping the cycle indoors and wiping it down after every use. Purchasers close to the weight limit should keep shopping.

Brief Overview

The Xterra SB120 Recumbent Bike is built to comfortably hold users of the lighter persuasion and has a few amenities that keeps it competitive in the less than $300 price range. It has a compact 4-foot frame that can be easily moved to save space after workouts are complete. There is a step-through design made popular with this type of frame and can fit users of varying heights with an adjustable seat.

Overall Quality

The Xterra SB120 Recumbent Bike is a basic startup cycle for those looking to start their fitness journey with an indoor workout machine. There is a lighter 8.8 lb. flywheel that offers 8 levels of resistance which is more than enough to get the party started with a smooth ride. There are oversized pedals with adjustable straps and a wider seat for added comfort during cycling fun.

The seat moves horizontally to better fit longer and shorter legs though there is not a reclining function available with this model. The SB120 has a small LCD display screen with 6 points of information that include pulse rate which is monitored through the side handlebars conveniently located next to the well-padded seat. There is also an integrated holder for users streaming devices.

Conclusion

The Xterra SB120 is a basic recumbent bike that is firmly in the budget-friendly zone for lower-weighted individuals looking to get healthier with the addition of an indoor cycle to their home setting. There are components that are tailored towards beginning users though the lower warranty causes doubt in the lasting quality of this machine. As with any model in this price range we caution users to note they are not built to last and should keep that in mind before purchasing.
