How long will the Weslo Cadence G 5.9i last?

The Weslo Cadence G5.9i has a 120 lbs. assembled weight (heavier than most in this price range) and a 275 lbs. max weight limit. The price point of this treadmill suggests that it will not last, and even the length of the warranty seems to agree. The warranty offered presently is a disappointing 1 year on the motor and 90-days on the parts and labor. This treadmill is not designed for heavy workouts but a casual light, short, walker might get a year or so of moderate use from this machine.

Brief Overview

The Weslo Cadence G5.9i is a choice for those who are looking to get in shape and stay active but may not have the money or space needed to purchase higher-end treadmill models. It has an entry level price point that will suit most people just fine without breaking their budget and is foldable to optimize space after workouts.

Overall Quality

The Weslo Cadence G5.9i treadmill offers an affordable price point along with a 30-day membership with iFit for personalized workouts and world class personal training advice from top tier professionals. It is a great basic treadmill that has features and durability at an affordable price point, but it still doesn't beat out other treadmills in its class by much. The build quality of this machine shows some promise for those who want more than just something simple enough to work around the house. This treadmill offers a comfort cell cushioning system to help soften the impact on your joints as you walk but other than that and the iFit offering, this treadmill has the standard features of others in its price range. There is a 16”x50” area for walking so longer strides will not work. It offers a 2.25 HP motor with a top speed of 10 MPH which is decent enough for walking and has 6 built in programs. What we find incredibly disappointing is that you have to manually toggle into 2 different positions to use the incline feature.

We invite you to see our other treadmill reviews to help you narrow your search for your next fitness machine.

The Weslo Cadence G5.9i is a great treadmill for budget-conscious beginners but it has some drawbacks that make the price less than ideal and may deter those who are serious about their exercise regimen or getting the most out of every workout session. It comes with standard features and not a lot of amenities in comparison with other models priced around the same price point. It is a good option for a budget-conscious shorter person who does not mind manually adjusting their incline before their workout.

Jeff- Buyer BEWAREDec 03, 2018

Non-usable till you download their app and sign up for a trial fitness tracker. The only problem is it's not free and they won't accept cancellations. TREADMILL will NOT WORK unless you download the app, activate your membership, and they have your credit card information for the trial. Following which canceled the trial the very next day, however, a month later still got charged for the membership. Called them on the very day of the transaction, very rude and not accepting the cancellation, showed them proof on my app showing membership inactive, still would not accept. The treadmill is decent, but be cautious.

I am a medium-built woman with many years of training pro-athletes in orthopedics/sports medicine. I was able to fit the box into my vehicle and get it up one flight of stairs with no problem, by myself. Assembly was a breeze and also done solo (IKEA is more difficult to assemble) and it is everything that it should be. Noise- this is a quiet machine. Anything with a motor will make noise but your feet pounding the track will be louder. Most of us have earbuds in any way. You may need an electric screwdriver for the release piece for a secured fold-up. Push the blue button 10-20 to start.
