Vision T40 Classic Treadmill Review

treadmill Doctor Note :

Great warranty for a sub $3k machine but that's not much to talk about beyond that.

A solid treadmill but very high on the price tag. In this range we would be looking at a True.

The Vision T40 Classic is a pretty good treadmill. Our biggest complaint is that it costs $2,899. At this high of a price, we believe they could have offered a bit more value. Still, it was the 3rd runner up for our Best Buy award in the $2,400-2,999 price range.

The walking area is right where you want it to be. The belt measures in at 20" x 60", which is the standard size for today's treadmills. This size is usually big enough for larger users to comfortably run on.

The motor in the machine is okay. The amount of power generated isn't exactly low, but you can find several models that are much less expensive that have similar power producing capabilities. Speeds of up to 12 mph are obtainable with this motor, so most runners will have no problem pushing themselves.

Considering the cost, the cushioning system is pretty sad. Ultra Zone is the name of the system this model uses to reduce the impact that running has on the joints and back. It's a bit better than average, but if you know where to look, you can find some sub-$1,000 machines that offer similarly forgiving running surfaces.

The projected reliability is pretty good. You can find some models that sell for a lot less that we expect to last as long as this one, but you'll have to pay almost $4,000 to find one that we expect to last longer. It's hard to find better quality parts without spending a lot more, but you can find similar parts on much cheaper treadmills.

The warranty on the Vision T40 is fantastic. Labor is covered for 2 years; parts are covered for 7 years; and the frame, motor, and cushioning are covered for life. You won't find better coverage without spending at least $4,000, and even then, it's pretty rare.
