Hefty features and hefty price tag are the hallmarks of this machine. Impressive machine, but the price is impressive too.

The True PS850 with Touch Screen gives you the exact same quality as the standard True PS850. At $5,399, you're paying an extra $700 for the touch screen. You might as well throw in an extra $500 and move to the ES series for this price. Of course, if you're dead set on the touch screen, you'll have to pay $1,500 more for the ES touch screen model than you would for this one.

The walking area is quite large. The belt measures in at 21" x 60", which is a good 1" wider than the standard 20" x 60" walking belt that comes on most of today's treadmills. Larger users that have a wider stance and are accustomed to the standard belt size may find this model to be more accommodating.

You get a powerful motor in this machine, but at $5,000 you'll be able to find some models that have significantly greater power producing capabilities than this one does. You can, however, reach speeds of up to 12 mph, so even experienced runners should be able to challenge themselves.

A very impressive cushioning system comes on this treadmill. Soft System adjustable cushioning uses a soft impact zone and a firmer push off point to reduce the impact running has on your joints. This is used in conjunction with an orthopedic belt. It's not easy to find a more forgiving and durable cushioning system at any price.

As far as projected reliability is concerned, this model isn't great. It's not that the life expectancy is short, but for $5,399, you should get a more durable machine. We expect some of the models that cost $1,000 less than this one to last longer. The quality of parts isn't great in this price range, either.

The warranty on the True PS850 is good. The headphone jack, iPod connector, and USB port are covered for 6 months no labor; labor is covered for 1 year; the 15" touch screen is covered for 5 years; parts are covered for 10 years; the motor is covered for 30 years; and the frame is covered for life.
