Proform ZT3 Treadmill Review
treadmill Doctor Note :
This is what we call a smoke treadmill. You buy the machine and then all the value goes up in smoke.
You simply cannot get quality for this price point. Everything has to be cheapened to get the price point down.
The Proform ZT3 is a cheap treadmill. It sells for $599. If you're looking for a quality machine at this price, you're kidding yourself. It costs a lot for a manufacturer to produce good fitness equipment, and they'll never be able to charge this little for one. You can, however, find better in this price range than this machine. We just think it would be a better idea to save up some money and find a treadmill that's worth buying.
The walking area is a decent size considering the price. The belt measures in at 18" x 55". This is a good 2" less wide and 5" shorter than your standard 20" x 60" walking belt. This should still be enough room for users to walk on comfortably, but if you're used to the 20" x 60" belt, you may notice a difference.
A very weak motor powers this machine. There aren't many models available that have less power producing capabilities than this treadmill does. In theory, you can reach speeds of up to 10mph. We wouldn't recommend using it at that speed. This is a walker's treadmill, and running on it will cause damage to the structure and drive system.
If you're looking for a horrible cushioning system, you're in luck. TreadSoft Cushioning is used to reduce the impact that walking has on your joints and back. The combination of impact resistance and durability this running surface offers is one of the worst out of all the treadmill we reviewed.
The projected reliability on this machine is so bad that we fear for its viability as a coatrack. Only by dropping down to the $299 price point can you find models that have a shorter life expectancy than this one. The quality of parts is very much lacking.
If you're worried about noise, this probably isn't your best option. There are many models that make less noise during operation, and some of them can be found in this price range.
The warranty on the Proform ZT3 is ridiculously bad. Parts and labor are covered for 90 days, while the motor is covered for 5 years. This kind of coverage shows that the manufacturer expects this model to breakdown rather quickly.
