How long will the Proform UBK 885 last?

Precor has incorporated a few aspects such as a belt drive system and a good warranty which indicates to us that this bike could stick around for a while like an old friend. While the UBK 885 doesn’t have as many features it does have a strong build. This bike should be able to fit a moderate to heavy user as long as proper care is maintained.

Brief Overview

The Precor UBK 885 sneaks in our top four, with a bit of quality. But it really doesn’t do much to stand out among its competitors. Consequently, we rated the Precor our Fourth-place winner for 2021 Best Buy for the $4000 and up price point.

Overall Quality

Precor has included a lot of valuable parts in this bike. First, we like to see that Precor put a drive belt system which are known are known for their reliability. For the price tag there is a lot of value built into this bike. The icing on the cake, Precor provides a good warranty as well. The warranty terms are seven years for the frame, five years for mechanical, three years for parts and computers, and finally one year for labor.

But with all this good, we still find the UBK 885 lacking. The console is not as big and does not offer as many programs. The UBK 885 has a disappointing 17 programs, where other competitors at this price point have about 40. In addition, the UBK 885 doesn’t have as many resistance levels. Other bikes in this price category have upwards of 30 resistance levels, while UBK 885 only offers 25. The lower price tag is nice, you shouldn’t have to forfeit so many features.

Conclusion

The UBK 885 may be the bike for you if you are seeking a well-constructed fitness machine but aren't apprehensive about the number of programs or resistance levels. The main reason we didn’t rant the UBK 885 any higher is because we think Precor could have offered a few more features despite the lower price tag. Thus, we have placed the Precor UBK 885 as the Fourth-Place Winner for 2021 Best Buy for the $4000 and up price range.
