How long will the Proform 505 SPX last?

The price range that the Proform 505 SPX is in you won’t find a long-lasting bike. If you are only going to use your bike a couple of times a week, this bike may last you a couple of years, if you are looking for a machine to ride daily, you should look into a more expensive, better quality machine.

Brief Overview

The Proform 505 SPX is not our top choice because it is the highest-priced verse others in its category. We do however like a few of the features on this Proform bike. Therefore, we rate the 505 SPX Bike our Second-place winner for 2021 Best Buy for the $399 and under price point.

Overall Quality

This bike was built with a focus on quality parts. The forty-pound flywheel is the first good testament to the quality of this machine. The belt drive system is another great example of quality in this bike, unlike others with the chain drive system, that are known to be more prevalent to breaking.

But there are a lot of features that we are not thrilled about. For starters, the Proform 505 SPX has a teeny tiny LCD screen that simply shows your workout progress and nothing else. Then we move to the three-year exchange and parts warranty that is small potatoes compared to other ten-year frame warranties for bikes in this price range. For the Proform 505 SPX’s price tag, you should be seeing better features. Other features that come standard are on all bikes at this price point include an adjustable seat, knob resistor, and adjustable height for the handlebars.

If you do not care about the technology, and just want a well-built bike, this may be for you. Please keep in mind how often you plan to use your bike and how intense a workout you are looking for, compared with the price you are willing to pay. Therefore, we ranked the Proform 505 SPX Bike as our second choice Best Buy for 2021 in the $399 and under price category.
