Proform 10.0 CE Elliptical Review
treadmill Doctor Note :
The space saving feature aside, the 10.0 CE is a very average elliptical.
If you are serious about a Proform we would recommend the 910 E. While more money, it gives you a lot more than you will get with the 10.0 CE.
The Proform 10.0 CE is a very price appropriate elliptical. At $599, that's not a good thing. It's impossible to find quality fitness equipment at this low of a price. Too many corners must be cut to keep costs this low. You'd be better off pushing your purchase back and saving for an elliptical that would be worth spending your money.
Ergonomically speaking, this model is about as good as you can hope for considering the $599 price tag. Unfortunately, that's not saying much, and you can find models that offer a more natural range of motion for just a couple hundred dollars more. The lack of adjustability is awful. It does at least have an adjustable stride length. It can be set at 16", 18", or 20", so you have a chance to make it fit to your body type. $400 more will get you a machine with much greater options for adjustments.
As far as projected reliability is concerned, this elliptical is decent in its price range. That does, however, put it below average. There are a few models that have a shorter life expectancy that are more expensive, but there aren't many. The quality of parts is about what you'd expect. Cheap machines generally come from cheap components.
This is one of the louder ellipticals you'll find. Most models make about the same amount of noise regardless of price, but this one is one of the few that isn't quite as quiet during operation. If you want a model that makes less noise, you shouldn't have trouble finding it.
The warranty on the Proform 10.0 CE is bad. Parts and labor are covered for 1 year, while the frame is covered for life. We don't blame them for offering such poor coverage on this machine; this is the kind of coverage it deserves. We blame them for creating a machine they don't feel comfortable standing behind.
