How long will the Precor EFX 443 last?

Even though we do not agree with Precor’s price jump for the upgraded console, there is still a reason why we have ranked the EFX 443 in our top four. Precor has equipped the EFX 443 with the commercial-grade build that they have become so well-known for. This same frame is able to withstand constant use in the commercial sector. Therefore, the EFX 443 is likely to withstand any level of use for quite some time. Still, please be sure to keep in mind that we assess a machine's longevity with the idea that it will be properly kept. Simple steps like setting up a routine cleaning schedule and having you're elliptical professionally installed will help to ensure the lifespan of your investment.

Brief Overview

We have decided to award the EFX 443 our Third Place 2019 Best Buy Award for the $4,000 dollar and Up category. While we recognize the outstanding amount of quality that Precor has managed to put into the EFX 443, we do not find the additional console worth the extra money. This elliptical has a great amount of substance, but the price is hard to justify. Thus, we are recommending looking into other Precor models with a price that matches the value. Even still, the EFX 443 is a commendable elliptical that is a decent buy.

Overall Quality

We have seen ellipticals both in this price range and in lower price ranges that offer consoles that are nothing short of a simple tablet. Some brands offer consoles with HD touchscreens that can download apps, communicate with other devices, and connect to the internet. These types of consoles are, obviously, worth a little more cash. Now, imagine paying five hundred dollars for a console that has one basic program that simply communicates with an app on your device. Not really worth it, right? Well, Precor seems to think that their upgraded console with their Preva program is worth the extra money. While we do appreciate additional technology, we do not recommend paying this much money for a console that has such minimal programming.

On the bright side, the EFX 443 is not just a console. Precor has also equipped this elliptical with their commercial-grade design. This unique design not only offer superior quality, but it also grants the EFX 443 with a great deal of durability. We also like Precor’s unique cross-ramp system. They have created an incline system that also alters the shape of the stride. Basically, this cross-ramp design allows you to receive an elliptical workout as well as a workout that is similar to a stair-stepper.

Features like the cross-ramp help to exemplify the coveted quality the Precor offers. One should understand that the majority of the EFX 443’s price tag is derived from the Precor name. Many people regard Precor ellipticals with high esteem for multiple reasons. Some reasons may include the fact that Precor introduced the elliptical to the public or the superior quality that Precor offers. No matter the reason, if you truly love the Precor brand and the feel of their ellipticals, then you will be able to receive their high-caliber quality with this model.

History

We have said that the EFX 443 is the same elliptical as the EFX 423 with an upgraded console. While we have commended this model’s excellent quality and outstanding durability, we have not found the upgraded console worth the extra money.

Conclusion

Though we regard Precor's quality very high, we cannot recommend spending the extra money on the EFX 443 simply because of the upgraded console. This elliptical is nearly identical to the EFX 423. The only difference is the addition of the Preva programming. We do not view the limited programming as a five-hundred-dollar value. So, we have placed the EFX 443 in the Third-Place spot among our $4,000 dollar and Up 2019 Best Buys. Despite our concerns about the price, the EFX 443 does have the Precor standard of quality. Thus, if you like the additional console and want a Precor elliptical, then the EFX 443 is a good choice.
