How long will the Peloton Tread last?

The Peloton Tread is built of durable carbon steel and comes with a reassuring 290 lb. weight. It can hold a multitude of users up to a 300 lb. weight capacity and has a 16-year-old age minimum meaning it is rated too powerful for children to use. While there is only a 12-month limited warranty offered on the touchscreen Peloton does offer 3 years warranty on the frame, motor, and belt with the purchase of the Tread and consumers can be assured that it is built to last. The Peloton Tread is designed with joggers and sprinters in mind and will hold up to moderate use for many years to come. Proper care and maintenance will also help extend the life expectancy of this stellar fitness machine.

Brief Overview

The Peloton Tread has many quality features that will appeal to a gamut of users from beginners to seasoned runners. While not quite budget friendly at $2500 it is a durable treadmill and will be worth the initial large investment in the long run unless good credit is an option and users choose the financial plan for monthly payments offered through the Peloton website. It does offer access to the Peloton app which enhances workouts to the highest extent, but continued membership can be pricey and should be considered before purchase. Peloton has incorporated free delivery and assembly in the purchase price which is an awesome deal considering the unit is hefty in size.

Overall Quality

The Peloton Tread is streamlined to let users utilize a larger runner area while maintaining a sleek design that will fit easily into any home setting. It has a full 59” of running space and is quite roomy with a wide 20” of upper body room and allows users to easily swing their arms or employ weights during workout sessions. The Peloton Tread has a 3.0 HP DC motor which is built to last and allows users to reach 12.5 MPH enabling even sprinters to reach high levels of training. Those looking to elevate their workouts to new heights will enjoy the 12.5% incline feature which is quick to access at the touch of a button. The Peloton Tread has a phenomenal 23.8” touchscreen and offers live classes and the ability to work out with other members with a paid subscription to the Peloton app. There are adjustable knobs that help users quickly change speed and incline while a jump button increases speed in 1 MPH increments and incline in 1% increments. The large viewing display screen also tilts to a 50-degree angle for optimal viewing pleasure. There is a microphone and front-facing camera built into the console so users can video chat with friends during workout sessions along with a USB port to charge devices. The Tread also offers premium audio with speakers in the front and woofers in the back to rock out while reaching performance goals.

History

Peloton had a recall on all their treadmills in 2021 that should serve as a warning to heed the precautions we have been voicing for over 20 years. NEVER let children or pets play or even be in the same room when you are using a treadmill and ALWAYS use the safety key when using the treadmill. Even though Peloton overlooked a barrier at the rear of the treadmill, NONE of the injuries would have occurred if the operators of the treadmills would have followed our two rules.

Conclusion

Whether you can afford it or not, the Peloton Tread is a workhorse of a treadmill that has a unique design meant to fit into any household gym. It has a pleasing combination of both functionality and technology and is well worth the price based on its quality components and durable build. The Peloton Tread is a worthy investment for any level of fitness enthusiast and will last for many years despite its short warranty.
