How long will the Peloton Bike Plus last?

You may not know, but Peloton has one of the worst warranties in this price point. The Bike+ has also not been around for too long so it is hard to know how long it will really last. Based on the warranty, Peloton only sees this model sticking around for five years. Bottom line, we do not see much promise in the Bike Plus's build. We would only recommend this bike for a person in the 250-pound range who likes to work out three to four times a week.

Brief Overview

Peloton has seemingly taken the fitness world by storm but there are really only two big reasons why: marketing and a sweet console. Even still, it is hard to ignore the value in the new Bike+. Taking this into account, we have awarded the Peloton Bike+ our First Place 2021 Best Buy Award for the $2,000 to $2,999 Dollar Range.

Overall Quality

Let's start with the good features of the Peloton Bike+. To put it in perspective, the Bike+ is similar to a new Mercedes Coupe. It comes with all the bells and whistles and you definitely pay for it – but take all that away and you're just left with a pretty Altima. The Peloton Bike Plus's price tag is largely made up of the technology that comes with this bike. But man is it a ton of value, that is if you are willing to continue to pay for it. Despite the extra charge for the membership, the Bike Plus console is packed with valuable speakers, touchscreen, pixelation, and Apple and Android compatible applications which allow you to track your workouts no matter your operating system. So if you are looking for a slightly above average bike with a fun experience, then the Bike+ is a top choice.

But we can’t let Peloton off the hook too easily. You see, while this console is valuable and one of the best, if not the best for the price, you have to pay for the membership that makes the console so valuable. If you would like to experience what Peloton has to offer, you have to spend $40 dollars a month (nearly $500 bucks a year!) on top of the $2,500 dollar price tag. This would not be the biggest deal if the Bike+ had a better build. But compared to other bikes at this price point, this model does not show much promise for a moderate user. Oh, and if you are over 297 pounds, Peloton doesn't even think you should buy it.

In short, if you are into the fun workout classes and have maybe been paying for gym classes for a while, you can appreciate the value that the Peloton Bike+ offers. But if you want a strong, well-built bike that you do not have to pay an additional $500 dollars a month to get the full value out of, then you may want to keep looking. Taking all of this into account, we have awarded the Peloton Bike+ our First Place 2021 Best Buy Award for the $2,000 to $2,999 dollar category.
