How long will the NordicTrack T6.5 Si last?

Though we have awarded the T6.5 Si our First Place 2020 Best Buy Award for the $700 to $999 dollar category, we have not done so based on its durability. The T6.5 Si has a lot of value in its features and less in its overall build. Accordingly, this treadmill is best suited for a walker and maybe a light jogger. With proper care and light use, you may be able to see about two to three solid years out of the T6.5 Si.

Brief Overview

Let’s face it, you are not going to get a strong, runner’s treadmill with a lot of features for less than $1,500 dollars. But on the bright side, there are plenty of companies that are making good strides at producing affordable, somewhat strong walker’s treadmills with a few features. This year, we have found a treadmill that gives some pretty cool features with a price tag that accurately matches the value. The NordicTrack T6.5 Si is our 2020 Best Buy Winner for the $700 to $999 dollar range thanks to its updated technology and decent build.

Overall Quality

To start off on a positive note, the NordicTrack T6.5 Si comes with the average twenty built-in workouts, ten-incline levels, ten-speed settings, and a 20 x 55-inch belt. All of these features are pretty normal for this price range. But the feature that helps the T6.5 Si stand out is the 10” touch screen. This treadmill is the next step up in NordicTrack’s T series and offers the smaller size screen. Sure, it is not the biggest screen on the biggest treadmill, but for someone with a tight budget, a touchscreen on a treadmill for less than $1,000 dollars is pretty neat.

We also like that NordicTrack included a one-year free iFit membership, however, we are cautious about promoting this feature. While the one-year membership adds about a $450-$500 dollar* value to the T6.5 Si, it only lasts a year. So, after your year runs up, you can either continue to pay or your treadmill loses nearly half of its value.

With the iFit membership taking up so much of the value, you are then left wondering which corner NordicTrack had to cut in order to keep the T6.5 Si under $1,000 dollars. Unfortunately, they cut the build corner. Though the T6.5 Si has a decent structure, there are other treadmills in this price range that are a little bit stronger. So, if you are a more serious user you may want to look into some of our other Best Buys. But, if you are not as concerned with building up your 5k speed, then you might agree with us that the T6.5 Si has a good amount of overall value to make it a good contender in the $700 to $999 dollar range. br />

History

This is the first year that we have been able to review the NordicTrack T6.5 Si treadmill.

Conclusion

We have decided to award the NordicTrack T6.5 Si our First Place 2020 Best Buy Award mainly because we find that its value accurately matches the price tag. Though the T6.5 Si is not suited for serious users, we would recommend it for a walker or casual jogger. If you are on a budget, then you may appreciate all of the added features that usually only come with a treadmill that costs a few grand.
