The durability of the Free Stride FS10i is the one feature that we are not absolutely sold on. We are sure of a few things. Based on the specifications, the Free Stride FS10i seems like a well-built elliptical. Additionally, center drive ellipticals often have a more even distribution of weight which helps the components share the wear and tear. But we also know that customers have had horror stories of machines that never really work right and horrible customer service.
So, we will remain neutral and say, with caution, that the NordicTrack Free Stride FS10i should hold up well to a moderate to heavy user who works out multiple times a week. As always, make sure you take proper care of your machine especially if you are going to spend so much on one.
NordicTrack is known for producing affordable machines that are choc-full of features. When they offer ellipticals in this price range, they certainly jump a little out of their comfort zone and cannot match the reliability and quality of other brands at this price. But, we cannot ignore the value in the NordicTrack Free Stride FS10i’s console and overall build. Therefore, we have awarded the Free Stride FS10i our First Place 2021 Best Buy Award for the $2,000 to $2,999 range.
First, let’s tear into the Free Stride FS10i elliptical's good qualities. If we were to sum up the main good aspect of NordicTrack it would be their ability to offer high-quality features at affordable rates and we see that with the elliptical. With a ten-inch HD touchscreen, thirty-five built-in workouts, and one year of free iFit. Sure, you'll have to pay $500 after the year is up, but you still have thirty-five programs and a touchscreen with a lot of capability.
Technology is great and all but we really love the design of this center-drive elliptical. We love center drives anyway because they are more stable, and the mechanisms sustain a more even wear and tear. Additionally, NordicTrack has developed their center design by making it more versatile. The Free Stride FS10i can act as three machines in one, a stepper, elliptical, and a treadmill. So not only can the FS10i support multiple users with an advanced console, but the versatile design also allows multiple users to reach their fitness goals in one machine.
Nonetheless, we do have features that we are not thrilled about. First off, the warranty that NordicTrack included is really disappointing. A ten-year frame, two-year parts, and one-year labor warranty is the same warranty NordicTrack has for their cheaper thousand dollar model. You would think if they really made the build better they would be more willing to stand behind it with the Free Stride FS10i. The below-average warranty goes in line with our other aspect we do not like. NordicTrack has only become a better contender in the past decade and with that, we have heard more and more stories of folks who get lemons they are never able to use. Since we are discussing this higher price bracket, we cannot ignore the many other brands that have been around a long time and they are known for their excellent customer service and extremely well-built machines. You certainly run a risk with the Free Stride FS10i so make sure the features are worth it.

The Free Stride FS10i is our First Place 2021 Best Buy Award for the $2,000 to $2,999 range largely because of the amount of quality offered in this elliptical. NordicTrack has done well to include a high-quality console and versatile design. While we do have our downsides with reliability and warranty, but the NordicTrack Free Stride FS10i should hold up well to a moderate to heavy user.
