Lifespan TR3000i Treadmill Review

$200 price jump this year makes this one less attractive, especially when you consider the improvements that Sole and Smooth have made at this price point.

It is a great looking design with great fit-and-finish quality. Solid, full-HRC model. Lifespan made what is in our opinion a poor move by raising the price.

The Lifespan TR3000i is a solid treadmill, but at $1,499, it doesn't really stand out within its price range. If your budget is around this price, you'd be better off taking a look at some of the models by Sole or Smooth. If you have an extra $500 to spend, step up to the TR5000i.

The walking area is decent. The belt measures in at 20" x 56", which is a good 4" shorter than the standard 20" x 60" walking belt found on most of today's treadmills. This should still provide enough room for larger users to run on comfortably without altering their stride.

A pretty good motor comes in this machine. It's fairly rare to find treadmills with greater power producing capabilities in this price range. You can reach speeds of up to 12 mph, so even experienced runners should have no problem challenging themselves.

A price appropriate cushioning system can be found with this treadmill. 8 variable density elastomers are used to reduce the impact that running has on your joints and back. There are a few models that sell for cheaper that have a more durable or forgiving running surface, however.

As far as projected reliability is concerned, this model isn't bad. Most of the treadmills in this price range are expected to last about as long as this one, but there are several machines that can give you a longer life expectancy without an increase in cost. The quality of parts used is also good, though unimpressive.

The warranty on the Lifespan TR300i is okay. Labor is covered for 1 year, parts are covered for 5 years, and the motor and frame are covered for life. This isn't an excessive amount of coverage, but this treadmill isn't a major investment compared to others.
