Lifespan TR1200 DT7 Treadmill Review

treadmill Doctor Note :

The best option for most people with the added feature of the electrically adjusted desk height. I personally would buy it with the electric height adjustment but it could make sense for some people.

Lifespan TR1200 DT7 Treadmill Review

Walking Area:

Noise Level:

Overall Rating: 5.88

This is an integrated desk table cum walking treadmill enabling users to walk comfortably while they do multitasking in an office ambiance.

The plus points...

A low powered but less noisy motor adapted for walking

The 2.25 HP motor is incapable of supporting running or more strenuous activity but it packs sufficient power to enable a brisk walking pace at speeds of 2 mph, comfortable enough to perform routine desk table work. Higher speeds would create noise problems that may not be desirable, especially in a quieter office environment.

A good walking surface with supportive cushioning

Normally a treadbelt sized 20" x 56" would be more than adequate for running, accommodating a wider stance and the taller user with a longer stride, but here its intended purpose is walking only. As the desktop is electronically adjustable so a wide range of users can work the machine in an office ambiance.

The cushioning is pretty good providing just the correct amount of support to leg, back and hip joints, and walking will be very comfortable on this treadmill. This is important because users can stretch the duration of their workout and adapt to longer office hours using the treadmill efficiently.

The desk table is electronically adjustable

The desk table is an independent unit that is stable. This way the desk top remains isolated from the stress and vibration of the treadmill. The electronic height adjustment is a useful feature that will assist multiple users.

The negatives...

This treadmill is not designed for runners

If you are looking for a treadmill designed exclusively for serious running or even an entry level machine suited to infrequent runners, the TR1200 DT7 is not your machine. This model is designed specifically to synergize office routine with a reasonably good workout so that you can exercise your limbs while you work.

The $2,000 price point would discourage the average Joe

The power worker, with very little time to hit the gym who wants to spice up his office routine and enjoy a nice smooth workout while he punches the office keyboard, will find the TR1200 DT7 an attractive proposition. The person juggling an average budget would do well to select a model that caters his specific needs - walking or running (or both) - at a more affordable price point and choose a machine that delivers more features tailored to his needs.

Warranty could have been better

With six hours maximum daily usage, the warranty covers a period of 1 year for labor, 2 years for parts, 3 years for the motor and lifetime for the frame, which is quite disappointing at this price point. Considering that you are dealing with a low capacity motor you can't afford to strain the treadmill beyond a point. Overuse will create frequent and costlier maintenance problems in the long run.

The final diagnosis

The LifeSpan TR1200 DT7 Treadmill Desk comes with an electronically adjustable Desk Table - an exciting way to integrate an excellent workout into your daily routine in an office ambiance - the perfect way to mix pleasure and work.

Lifespan took their 1200 DT5 model and added an electronically adjustable desk height.
