Motor Control Adjustment

Includes Keys, Ironman, Alliance, Milestone, Encore, HealthTrainer, some Smooth models, some CardioZone models, Galyans, and several other brands.

There is only one adjustment potentiometer (pot) on a Keys motor controller. It is labeled Comp and it is easy to adjust.

If the speed is not properly working adjust the Comp pot counter-clockwise. The original factory directions are to turn it completely counter-clockwise and then adjust the Comp pot ¼ turn clockwise. Then run the calibration help topic from the troubleshooting section.

If you are still having speed problems and during the calibration process, make sure the number in the Cal/Dist window matches with the Speed/MPH window. If the Cal/Dist window number is higher, turn the Comp pot counter-clockwise until the numbers match. If the number is lower in the Speed/MPH window, adjust the Comp pot clockwise until the numbers match.

If low speed is still fast, adjust the Comp pot counter-clockwise about ¼ turn and then calibrate again.
