Intrepid Treadmill Review Index
General Information:Horizon has decided to give retailers a “take-it-or-leave-it” proposition. Essentially, they are saying here is the product and here is the price and we have a minimum level of acceptable quality. If you don’t like it, don’t buy it. In the past, many of their units were simply scaled down unit from their other brands but now Horizon is much more distinct. The only problem is now they are generally available online so the service level is typically not present. They make a very strong treadmill, especially near the $700 to $1000 price point.
Manufacturing Philosophy:The quality of the machine seems to be just as far as the eye can see. It looks better than the $200 that we plunked down for our test model but when you peel back the layers of this onion, you’ll find only misery and future repairs. To get it to such a low price point, you must cut every corner, including those corners that shouldn’t be cut.
Company Outlook : Since Dyaco didn’t even bother to build a website, we figure they are sticking a toe in the water and seeing how it works out. Since they are already discounting this unit by 33% from an already low, low price, we wonder how much longer it will be in the stores.
