Vision S 7100 Elliptical Review
TREADMILL DOCTOR NOTE :
The Suspension trainer concept by Vision has an excellent feel and quality track record... they just use up a massive amount of floor space.
The S7100 entry model is a good value for the money. You lose the adjustability of the S 7200, but you do save almost $1K in the process.
The Vision S 7100 is a good value at $2,799. It's nice to see Vision putting a reasonably pirced elliptical on the market. It's very similar to the S 7200, but the adjustability is much lower. It's up to you whether or not you think that's worth the extra $1,000 the S 7200 costs.
Ergonomically speaking, this model is decent. There are a few models under $2,000 that have a more natural range of motion, but most of the ellipticals that are ergonomically superior to this one cost over $4,000. The lack of adjustability is pretty bad. This is the drawback to getting this model instead of the S 7200. The stride length can be adjusted from 20"-21.5", so you have a couple of options to make it fit your body type. You can also select between 1-20 levels of resistance, which allows you to set this machine to work with your fitness levels. You can find ellipticals that sell for $2,000 less that offer greater adjustability.
As far as projected reliability is concerned, this model isn't very good. There are ellipticals that cost less than $1,000 that have a longer life expectancy than this one does. Most of the machines in this price range are more durable. The quality of parts used is also disappointing at this high of a cost.
The noise levels of this machine are average. This is pretty common among all ellipticals regardless of price. If one of your primary concerns is quietness during operation, you can find models that are better in this area without paying more, but we don't expect the average user to be bothered by the amount of noise this one makes.
The warranty on the Vision S 7100 is okay. Labor is covered for 2 years, the brake and parts are covered for 5 years, and the frame is covered for life. At this high of a price, more coverage is usually give.
