EXPERT REVIEW

Beautiful redesign for Landice. Most of the work was cosmetic because that's all the machine needed. High quality compoments that used to be one of the best values you will find on a high quality machine but big price increases have hurt the value. With that said, it is about as high quality as you can get in a home machine. Hopefully you can find a dealer who is willing to concede on the price. Our advice to Landice is: don’t mess with it if it ain’t broken. Unless you can get a discount from a dealer, better values are out there from Precor, Matrix, and True. With that said, the Pro Sports Trainer is a very solid unit. The one thing that Landice does well is make the same unit across the different console series. So you only have to engineer a single lower portion of the machine and you simplify the design process and don't overload the engineering staff.

General Information

Landice has been making treadmills since 1967 and has carved out a nice corner of the market. Their machines are typically well built with high quality components but the MSRP’s simply have little relation to what they sell for. These are easy machines to negotiate a discount due to the high markup. The lifetime warranty is outstanding but make sure to read the restrictions and disclaimers first.

Quality / Philosophy

Their philosophy seems to be to put excellent parts into their treadmills and keep the design as simple as possible. The packaging of the product has improved substantially over the past several years. If more companies were willing to or could afford to put the quality of parts into their machines, we would be out of work.
