Reebok Competitor RT 6.0 Treadmill Review
treadmill Doctor Note :
Short warranty is the only shortcoming on this one! Since Costco has been putting these on sale for $699, it is a 10 for value at that price!
Very solid components on a cheap treadmill. One of the best you can get if you can find it on sale at Costco, it is a winner except for those who put serious training on a treadmill.
The Reebok Competitor RT 6.0 is an excellent treadmill sold at $899. At this price, you're getting impressive quality. If you can catch Costco selling it for $699, you should seriously consider purchasing it. Just remember, it's not made to handle serious running, so we only recommend it for those who plan on using it for walking. It was the 3rd runner up for our Best Buy award in the $700-999 price range.
You get a pretty good sized walking area with this model. The belt measures in at 55" x 20", which is slightly shorter than the 60" x 20" that is becoming the standard size, but it should be long enough to comfortably fit most users, even the taller ones. At this price point, the size of this belt is pretty common, and bigger belts aren't easy to find.
The motor on this machine is good. It's definitely one of the more powerful motors at this price range. It even compares favorably against some of the treadmills that go for $1,500 or more.
The cushioning system is pretty good, as well. You can find some models that can eliminate a larger portion of the impact that your joints and back incur during exercise at a similar price, but they don't do better than this model by much.
The projected reliability is great considering the cost. It has a similar life expectancy as some models that cost around $2,000. You're definitely not going to find a treadmill that will last longer than this one in this price range. The quality of parts is what you hope for if you're familiar with the best machines that sell for this low. If you purchase it at $699, you're really getting a steal.
The noise level isn't anything special. It doesn't make a lot of noise, but this treadmill doesn't set itself apart with quiet operation. Most of the models that sell for less than $1,000 make about the same amount of noise or more.
The warranty on the Reebok Competitor RT 6.0 is shorter than we'd like. On-site labor and parts are covered for 1 year, while the frame and motor is covered for life. A little more coverage on parts would have made this a decent warranty.
