Proform Performance 900 Treadmill Review
treadmill Doctor Note :
Once again, this is one of the best Proform models ever made. When you consider the hundreds of models they have had over the years, that is saying something.
Proform is putting quality (it is hard for us to put those words in the same sentence) into their $1000 plus machines and this is just more evidence of it.
The Proform Performance 900 is one of the better treadmills to come out of a long line of models by Proform. That being said the Power 1080 is probably what we would choose over this model. They both cost $1,299, and the Power 1080 has a much better warranty to go with similar quality. Overall, this is a pretty good treadmill, and the price is slightly lower than you might expect.
The walking area is a good size. The belt measures in at 20" x 56"'. This is a solid 4" shorter than your standard 20" x 60" walking belt. This should still provide enough room for taller individuals to run on comfortably without altering their stride.
This machine has a pretty impressive motor. You're not likely to find a model with greater power producing capabilities without spending around $2,000. Speeds of up to 12 mph are attainable, so even experienced runners should be able to challenge themselves.
The cushioning system is good, as well. ProShox Plus Cushioning System is used to reduce the impact that running has on your joints and back. There aren't any running surfaces that are more forgiving and longer lasting available in this price range.
As far as projected reliability is concerned, this treadmill does pretty well. The life expectancy is right around what it should be considering the cost, so it should last for a decent amount of time if it's properly taken care of. The quality of parts is good, but you can find better without paying more if you know where to look.
The warranty on the Proform Performance 900 isn't particularly good or bad. Labor is covered for 1 year, parts are covered for 3 years, and the motor and frame are covered for life. This is a pretty average amount of coverage, and it seems appropriate for this treadmill.
