Proform Performance 1850 Treadmill Review
treadmill Doctor Note :
Easily the best Proform ever built. $2000 is a high price point for Proform but we couldn't find any major shortcomings in this unit.
If you want high quality and a Proform, at one time you didn't have a choice. This is the best Proform ever made and although it feels weird saying it, it is a quality Proform.
The Proform Performance 1850 is the best treadmill Proform has ever produced. We're not used to seeing them selling a model at this high of a price, so it was a pleasant surprise that they created a high quality machine. This was the 2nd runner up for our Best Buy award in the Best New Treadmill category.
The running surface is a good size. The belt measures in at 20" x 60", which has become standard for today's treadmills. This should be an appropriate size for most users.
The motor in this machine is great. Although you can find one or two models in this price range that have comparable motors, it's much more common to find models with similar power producing capabilities that cost $4,000 or more.
The cushioning system is what you'd like to see at this price. ProShox Cushioning is used to reduce the impact running has on your joints and back. It's an air based, shock cushioning system that Proform claims reduces impact by 30%. Most of the models selling around $2,000 have a similarly forgiving running surface.
The projected reliability is good. The life expectancy compares favorable against several models that cost a few hundred to a thousand dollars more than this one does. The quality of parts used is much better than you'd expect to see in a model that sells as low as this model.
This is one of the quietest machines you'll find on the market. This is particularly impressive when you consider the price of this treadmill. If you're looking for a model with that's quiet during operation, and you don't want to spend $4,000, you should give this one a look.
The warranty is good. Labor is covered for 2 years; parts and electronics are covered for 5 years; and the deck, motor, and frame are covered for life. This isn't an amazing amount of coverage, but it's certainly nothing to complain about.
