treadmill Doctor Note :

The Q 37 just doesn't compare to what you can get from True's M series or Precor's value lineup.

Octane based their company on the proposition that the feel of the machine would trump all other considerations. The Q 37 provides the feel, but misses out on value, quality, and features in comparison to the competition. When you compare these to the True M Series or Precor's 5.21 or 5.23 the Q 37 misses the mark.

The Octane Q 37 doesn't have the value it needs to be asking for $2,599. The quality and features you can get from many other ellipticals in this price range put this model to shame. A nice feel is the best thing your going to get from this machine.

Ergonomically speaking, this elliptical is pretty good. There are very few models in any price range that offer a more natural range of motion. The lack of adjustability, however, is appalling. There are machines that sell for about $800 that will give you more adjustment options. The stride length is fixed at 20.5". If this doesn't work with your particular body type, there's no way to alter it. You can select between 20 levels of resistance, so you at least have the ability to align this machine with your fitness levels.

As far as projected reliability is concerned, this elliptical isn't bad. Many of the models that sell for over $3,000 have a comparable life expectancy, but you can also find several models that cost less than $2,000 that we expect to last just as long. The quality of parts used does not warrant the $2,599 price tag.

The noise levels of this machine are average. This is common among all ellipticals regardless of price. If quietness during operation is a major concern for you, you can find models in this price range that do a better job, but we don't expect the noise levels to bother the average user.

The warranty on the Octane Q 37 is okay. Labor is covered for 1 year, parts are covered for 3 years, and the frame is covered for life. Better warranties are generally associated with ellipticals that are priced this high.
