The Precusor to the E12.0 design that has a lot to offer, the E9.5 is a solid machine that offers reasonable quality, a good feature yet and a average warranty. All in all not a mistake if you purchase it, but we would recommend that you look at the 990 Pro or the E12.0 before you buy.
The Nordic Track E 9.5 is a good elliptical, but it does little to set itself apart. At $999, you're getting decent quality and plenty of features that will keep you entertained. Still, we recommend saving some money with the 990 Pro or getting a better model with the E 12.0.
The ergonomics on this machine is average. This isn't really bad at this price, but you can do better. In fact, the 990 Pro that sells for $100 less offers a slightly more natural range of motion. The adjustability is about the best you can hope for in such an inexpensive model. The stride length is adjustable with a maximum length of 22". The pedals are also adjustable, giving you some options to help you fit this machine to your body type.
The projected reliability of this elliptical is good considering the cost. Many models that cost several hundred dollars more have a similar life expectancy. The quality of parts is also what you're looking for in this price range. To find better quality parts, you'll have to spend a little more money.
The noise level is slightly below average, which isn't bad for such an inexpensive elliptical. The 990 Pro and E 12.0 both do better in this area, however. You can do a lot worse than this model, and we don't expect the average user to be bother by the level of noise it creates during its operation.
The warranty on the NordicTrack E 9.5 is okay. Labor is covered for 1 year, parts are covered for 3 years, and the frame is covered for life. You're not going to get coverage much better than this without paying more. If you're willing to spend an extra $200, you can jump up to the E 12.0, which offers a much more impressive warranty.
