NordicTrack Commercial 2950 Treadmill Review
treadmill Doctor Note :
Our best buy winner in the $2499 price point! A great treadmill with an added bonus of the best drive system parts we have ever seen in a NordicTrack!
What we can say in favor of the Treadmill
A massive 4.2 HP motor that powers an expansive 22" X 60" tread belt
With a motor that packs this level of power this is not a treadmill that will be overstretched by lengthier training sessions or heavy pounding. The motor complements the 22" X 60" tread belt and quality drive components that keep this treadmill running smoothly without hiccups. Make no mistake; this is a large frame power motor that squeezes the sweat out of any workout without protest.
Reasonably solid incline and decline variations coming in a neat package
If you cherish a simulated outdoor experience then you will like the 15% incline and -3% decline options that introduce a note of challenge into your daily exercise routine. It's a neat way of strengthening and toning your lower extremities in such a manner that you expend maximum calories.
Varying your own deck cushioning is highly desirable
It's a fact that not many models that are similarly priced or overpriced give you an adjustable cushioning feature. The Runner's Flex feature can help you deaden the intensity of joint impact and lower stress intensity by permitting you to adjust the cushioning, which is good news for older runners. Alternatively, the younger brigade can tone down the dampeners to get the thudding pavement effect.
Useful 40 different variations in pre-programmed workouts
When treadmills routinely stay tuned to a lower band of 10 to 25 programs, it's a virtual bonanza getting 40 variations, and this is definitely a boost for runners hungry for workout variations. This treadmill will ensure that you not only stay awake but you test the limits of your endurance; that is IF you want to!
A rock solid 3-year labor warranty that eases labor pains!
Labor costs are a universal pain in the you-know-what, and a labor warranty that promises a three year term on trouble free cost effective repairs and service is virtually manna from heaven.
Features that make you pause in evaluating your purchase
A stylish 15" TV is eye candy
You would think having an integrated TV is a good feature but what we have found is that they use cheap TV's and with iPads and wall mount TV's, do you really need another one?!?
Expensive - Yes, but feature rich, so we can't complain too loudly
The technology intensive bells and whistles that come with this treadmill will cut a sizeable hole in your savings, and there will be other treadmills that make the grade at lower costs. So your individual budget will be the deciding factor. If you have the bank balance, we say go for it.
Added costs in iFit membership fees is jarring considering the cost upfront
When you are already shelling out a figure close to $2500 for this fat burning furnace, the least Icon could have done was to sweeten the package with a free subscription offer for iFit live, or something similar so we could enjoy net access and Google simulated digitalized running. But these guys aren't in the business of funding Healthcare programs.
Appears to be a space guzzler; Not for parking in low ceiling basements!
The 72.2" unit height measurement in the folded condition means basements are ruled out, and when the dark avenger rolls out you need more treadmill room to unwind. Additonally, with the high step up to the deck, if you could fit it in your basement, your noggin would be bouncing off the ceiling. The final word:
If you want to push your fitness program up a notch regardless of a stiffer price tag, then the NordicTrack Commercial 2950 will not disappoint. Unfortunately, you get Icon's customer service with this machine but the likelihood is you won't ever need it. Quality does have its compensations.
