If NordicTrack follows up on their new commitment to customer service, this treadmill could take over the under $2000 treadmill. The quality of the machine is better than anything else in its price range.

The NordicTrack Commercial 1500 is a great choice for $1,299. The quality is unmatched at this price. Our main question is in regards to NordicTrack's customer service. They claim to be focusing in on this area, but we'll have to see that before were completely sold.

The walking area is a good size. The belt measures in at 20" x 60", which is exactly what you want to see. This has become the standard treadmill belt size, and it should provide plenty of room for most users to run comfortably without altering their stride.

The motor in this machine is fantastic. It's very uncommon to find a more powerful motor in a treadmill that costs less than $4,000. You can reach speeds of up to 12 mph with this model, so even experienced runners should be able to push themselves.

The cushioning system is pretty good. QuadFlex Cushioning is used to help reduce the impact that running has on your joints and back. It uses four sets of cushions to accomplish this goal. It's one of the most forgiving running surfaces in this price range.

The projected reliability is quite high. It has a life expectancy that you expect to see in models that cost well over $1,000 more than this one does. The quality of parts is very good for how much this treadmill sells for.

The noise level is pretty good. You can certainly do better, but it isn't loud enough that it will bother the average user.

The warranty on the NordicTrack Commercial 1500 is impressive. Labor is covered for 2 years; parts and electronics are covered for 5 years; and the motor, deck, and frame are covered for life. This is the type of warranty you hope for when purchasing a treadmill because it shows that the manufacturer is willing to stand behind their product.
