LifeFitness X8 GO Elliptical Review
treadmill Doctor Note :
The LifeFitness X8 available from Costco is a heck of a good buy and our 3rd Runner Up Winner in the $3999 category.
The LifeFitness X8 available from Costco is a heck of a good buy. While not up to the quality available from Precor or True Fitness, the X8 is close. With the addition of the lifetime return policy that Costco provides it would be hard to go wrong buying this machine from Costco.
The LifeFitness X8 Go is a quality elliptical. For $3,499, you shouldn't expect anything less. You also get the benefit of Costco's lifetime return policy, which helps to alleviate any concerns that you might have about this model. The X8 Go is the 3rd runner up for our Best Buy award in the $3,000-3,999 price range.
The ergonomics of this machine are decent, but at this price it's nothing to be proud of. There are models we reviewed that sell for $1,000 that have a more natural range of motion than this elliptical can offer. The adjustability is pretty good. The stride length can be placed between 18"-24". This gives you plenty of options to find the length that works best with your body type.
The projected reliability is really good. There aren't very many ellipticals that we reviewed that have a longer life expectancy than this one. The quality of parts used is really worthy of a machine with a $3,499 price tag. Not many companies will invest in parts that are better than what's used in this model.
The noise level is not something we are happy with. It's a little louder than your average elliptical, which is frankly ridiculous at this high of a price. Some of the least expensive models are quieter during operation than this one.
The warranty is really good on the LifeFitness X8 GO. Labor is covered for 1 year, Activity Zone is covered for 2 years, parts are covered for 7 years, the resistance system is covered for 10 years, and the frame and Lifesprings are covered for life. This alone is enough to get excited about, but when coupled with Costco's lifetime return policy, you've got very few reasons to be worried about purchasing this mode.
