HealthRider H50e Elliptical Review
TREADMILL DOCTOR NOTE :
The H50e is a good machine for a very good value.
At $699 the quality and features of the machine provide the user with a lot of bang for the buck. If you are in the lower price ranges for an elliptical this machine is a good choice.
The HealthRider H50e is a nice elliptical. At $699, it provides decent quality and a fair amount of features. Of course, sacrifices had to be made to keep the price this low, but this machine is one of the best choices for those who are on a budget.
Ergonomically speaking, this model is very good. There is only one elliptical that sells for $699 that offers a more natural range of motion, but it becomes more common to see machines that are better ergonomically once you hit the $799 price point. The adjustability is impressive for an elliptical that costs this little. The stride length can be set between 18-20", so you can allow this machine to fit your body type. 18 levels of digital resistance also let you align your workout with your fitness levels. You'll have to pay at least $200 extra to find a model that offers more adjustment options.
As far as projected reliability is concerned, this machine isn't bad. There are a couple of ellipticals in this price range that have a longer life expectancy, but the vast majority of models that sell for this low of a price are much less durable. The quality of parts used is impressive considering the reasonable price tag.
The noise levels of this machine are about average. This is common among all ellipticals, but those that sell for less than $1,000 typically make a bit more noise. This is one of the few models that doesn't . If quietness during operation is a major concern for you, you're not going to find a better machine this cheap.
The warranty on the HealthRider H50e is not good. Parts and labor are covered for 1 year, while the frame is covered for life. Even for an elliptical that is this affordable, the amount of coverage is weak.
