Brief Overview

A good elliptical that you can buy for $200 less under the Nordictrack brand name.

Overall Quality

We would also recommend that you take Fitnessblowout's claims of a "Lifetime warranty" with a grain of salt. Just ask consumers that bought a product from them under their CardioZone brand name.

The FreeMotion USA 5.3 is a solid elliptical that sells for $1,199. Like many other FreeMotion models, you can find a corresponding NordicTrack model that is cheaper. In this case, the alternative costs $200 less. Ignoring the fact that you can essentially get the same machine for less money, this isn't a bad value.

Ergonomically speaking, this elliptical is great. This machine offers a more natural range of motion than many of the models with a comparable cost, and you'll have to spend at least $2,000 to find ellipticals that do better in this area. You also get a decent amount of options for adjustments. There is a power-adjustable stride that can be set between 20"-22". This feature combined with the ability to adjust the foot pedals allows you to align this machine with your body type. You also get a wide range of incline going from -10 to 20 degrees. For a couple of hundred dollars more, you'll start seeing a few models that offer greater adjustability.

As far as projected reliability, this machine is just okay. It's better than many other ellipticals in this price range, but you can still easily find models with a longer life expectancy without paying more for them. The quality of parts used isn't bad, but it's not exactly impressive, either.

The noise levels of this elliptical are average. Most models make the same amount of noise regardless of price. There are a few that sell at this price point that is quieter, but they are few and far between. We don't expect the average user to be bothered by the amount of noise this machine makes.

The warranty on the FreeMotion USA 5.3 is nothing to get excited about. Fitness Blowout states that they will offer a lifetime warranty, but those that have dealt with them before know better.
