Bodyguard T270 Treadmill Review
treadmill Doctor Note :
The T280 has something to offer (at a very high price) if you like this one but there is no compelling reason to buy this Bodyguard.
Not sure why Bodyguard even offered this model other than the possibility they wanted to be able to raise the price of the T280 and make the price jump seem reasonable.
The Bodyguard T270 is one of the worst choices you can get from Bodyguard. This is saying a lot as we wouldn't really recommend any of the other options from this particular manufacturer. All of their treadmills are overpriced, and at $3,299, this one is one of the worst offenders. If you can't get a very nice discount, there is no reason to consider this machine.
The walking area is quite large. The belt measures in at 22" x 60", which is a good 2" wider than the standard 20" x 60" walking belt that is found on many of today's treadmills. Larger users with a wider stance may this treadmill to be more accommodating than most.
The motor powering this machine is okay, but you can find some sub-$1,000 treadmills that have similar power producing capabilities. Speeds of up to 12 mph are attainable, so even experienced runners should have no problem challenging themselves.
A good cushioning system comes on this model. BDS cushioning is used to reduce the impact that running has on your joints and back. You can find several treadmills that cost significantly more and offer less forgiving and durable running surfaces.
As far as projected reliability is concerned, this machine is okay. If you know where to look, however, you can get a treadmill that costs $1,200 less than this one and has a comparable life expectancy. The quality of parts used isn't bad for this price range.
The warranty on the Bodyguard T270 is great. Labor is covered for 3 years, parts are covered for 10 years, and the motor and frame are covered for life. Don't let this exceptional coverage lead you to believe that this treadmill has durability that matches the price. It's easy to offer a great warranty when you overcharge for all of your treadmills.
