AFG 7.1 AT Treadmill Review

treadmill Doctor Note :

The best AFG machine we have ever seen. It is at the top of the price range for what they build but it is solid. The Virtual Active option sounds better than it actually is in practice.

What we can say in favor of the Treadmill...

The motor gives adequate backup for power runners

There are treadmills with greater power producing capabilities at this price point, but the 3.25 HP motor that powers this machine is OK. Speeds of up to 12 mph are attainable, so serious exercisers and extreme runners will enjoy the smoothness and comfort this machine guarantees.

A spacious running surface

The 20" x 60" treadbelt is the standard size one finds in many of today's best treadmills. It provides plenty of space for larger users to run comfortably without altering their stride.

Cushioning presents a nice forgiving surface

This is a nice forgiving surface for the power runner and what you would expect at this price tag. There is adequate protection for limbs and joints and serious runners can raise the tempo of their exercise routine without fearing injuries.

Good number of programs and varying track inclines for strenuous workouts

The 15% incline range is sufficient to raise the intensity of running and bring some challenge and variety to healthier workouts. Additionally, there are 14 preset workout apps that motivate you to adopt weight loss exercising and help you shed more calories.

Impressive parts quality and better longevity

When you generally see sub-$2,000 treadmills cutting corners, this machine preserves the quality of vital parts quiet impressively. Naturally, this helps in improving the longevity of this machine. Buyers are definitely getting more value for their money.

Warranty coverage is good

The AFG 7.1 AT provides a good warranty cover of 2 years on labor, 5 years on parts, and lifetime on the motor and frame. You don't need more evidence of the manufacturer's commitment to product quality and servicing.

Points to ponder...

The casual user may consider $1,700 a stiff climb

Budget conscious buyers may find the price tag way beyond their reach, but it is for each consumer to decide the best combination of features and performance that his money can buy. If you can stretch your budget and buy this machine we can say without hesitation that you will be getting your dollars' worth and more.

Non folding treadmill

With ample dimensions measuring 79" x 37" x 57" this is a machine that doesn't fold. So plan your space before you bring home this treadmill.

Our verdict

The AFG 7.1 AT offers everything that a buyer could dream of at the $1,699 price tag - a great motor-drive combination harmonizing with an excellent treadbelt that boosts power running, excellent cushioning and a great warranty. We say it's the best machine to come out of The AFG assembly lines, and well worth every dime invested.

With the market getting crowded this is still one to consider but chances are you will never get to see one to consider it.
