General Information: True was started in the early 80's by the Trulaske brothers and is known for their incredibly quiet operation and soft feel. True really stepped up to the plate in the past year with a complete redesign of their lineup with the new PS and ES series machines. We think they fell a bit short on the PS line because some of the features that True is known for were left lacking on this line; presumably this was done to make a difference in the ES line but the quality and value are back in the True line.
Manufacturing Philosophy: True uses good components on their machines but the key of a True is their inarguably magnificent belt and deck combination, which is simply the best in the treadmill market. We gained a new perspective by visiting the factory over the last 2 years. They believe in taking care of customers which goes a long way in today’s world.
Company Outlook: True is one of the rocks in the business and will be around for a long time to come. Since the majority of True’s machines sell in the higher price range, we believe that the pressure felt by many American manufacturers won’t apply to True due to the low volume of units involved.
