How long will the Proform Smart Performance 600i last?

Now Proform has been a staple in the Icon lineup for a long while. And the Smart Performance 600i could make it for a good number of years. We like that Icon has given this treadmill a good warranty for this price range. Icon stands behind their motor and frame which tells you that they have faith in their product. The parts warranty is a little short, but it is, unfortunately, par for the course in this price range. We at Treadmill Doctor feel that this treadmill could provide you with several quality years if you are a little below average height and weight. Of course, routine maintenance and a bit of luck ultimately determine how many years of use you will get from this Proform Smart Performance 600i. If your above average size, we feel that you’d be better served by stepping up to a larger running surface and more powerful motor. For a few hundred dollars more the Proform Smart Pro 5000 is a much better-built treadmill that features a higher speed and elevation range.

Brief Overview

The Proform Smart Performance 600I is our second-place winner for Treadmill Doctor’s 2021 Best Buy for treadmills in the $1000 to $1299 price range. The Smart Performance 600i falls into the mid-priced range of Proform treadmills. It’s actually a fairly decent looking treadmill that the folks at Icon have put together. It’s not too terribly expensive and you can find this model on sale from time to time when they are in abundant supply. The Proform Smart Performance 600i has lots of programs to choose from and has 1 year of Ifit included. If you're a below average-sized adult and on a budget, this treadmill could be a good fit.

Overall Quality

This Smart Performance 600i falls in the upper-middle range of the Proform treadmill lineup. This Proform has a decent build but is a little on the small and light side for this price range. It’s a little underpowered and doesn’t have a huge incline range. This treadmill comes packed with a bunch of features, 1 year of Ifit, and plenty of built-in program options. This Proform has the best warranty in the Treadmill Doctor 2021 Best buy list for treadmills in the $1000-$1299 price range. Don’t expect to run at a sprinter's pace as its top speed only clocks in at 10 MPH. And the slighter build and running surface make it more ideal for a smaller adult. You should only find this treadmill lacking in its build quality if you are a larger adult. If you are larger, a runner, not a jogger, or just want a better treadmill for not much more money, please look at the Proform Smart Pro 5000.

Conclusion

The Proform Smart Performance 600i is not a bad treadmill for its price range. There are several reasons why we picked this treadmill as the 2nd place winner for the Treadmill Doctor Best Buy list for 2021 in the $1000-$1299 price range. It's loaded with programs and has 1 year of Ifit to keep you occupied. If you want to keep that subscription, it’s a bit pricey clocking in at around $400 a year. While the build is on the smaller and lighter side it’s not complete junk. It’s just designed for someone on the smaller side. It's a bit underpowered and should have a larger range of incline and speed levels but it is pretty much on par with the rest of the treadmills in its class. We at Treadmill Doctor feel and kind of stress that if you are above average height and weight that you should consider a beefier treadmill with a larger and longer running surface and more powerful motor. We feel that if you're sold on the name Proform that you should look at other Proform machines. With that consideration, if you are a bit shorter and lighter and not a sprinter but a jogger or walker this Proform may work out just fine for you.
