Great package. Simply put it is a beautiful treadmill. For the money, it is not a bad combination of parts for those who plan to use it simply to walk. If you are a serious user, buy a serious machine.

This one needs some upgrades to make it to the point where it could be a runner's treadmill.

The Proform 9.0 ZT is a treadmill that sells for $799. Serious runners should avoid it, but if you just plan on using it to walk, this should suit your needs just fine. It's a fairly average walking treadmill at a very good price.

The walking area is a pretty good size on this model. The belt measures in at 20" x 55". This is a good 5" shorter than the standard 20" x 60" walking belt, but it should still be long enough to fit most users' stride comfortably. Many more expensive treadmills offer a much less accommodating walking area.

The motor in this machine is pretty good. There are several models that cost $1,000 more than this one that offer similar power producing capabilities. Speeds of up to 10 mph are attainable with this treadmill, but as mentioned before, you should only use this model for walking. Running on this machine could damage the structure and drive system.

You'll find a price appropriate cushioning system on this treadmill. ProTech Cushioning is used to reduce the impact of walking on your joints and back. If you're willing to spend a couple of hundred dollars more, you'll start seeing treadmills that offer impact resistance that is much more likely to last.

As far as projected reliability goes, this model does very well. There are many models that cost almost $2,000 that have a shorter life expectancy than this one does. You're not going to find better quality parts on a treadmill that costs this little.

The warranty on the Proform 9.0 ZT is pretty disappointing. Parts and labor are covered for 1 year, the motor is covered for 25 years, and the frame is covered for life. This kind of warranty displays a lack of faith in this treadmill by the manufacturer. It's not uncommon to see such poor coverage in this price range.
