General Information:Nautilus has been a company in flux to put it mildly. Overall, the machines that they make are quite capable. You pay for the name but that is also the case with many other recognizable brand name companies in this business but we would look elsewhere to see if they can get their act together.
Manufacturing Philosophy:Their design philosophy seems to be to make a good machine and put the money where it is important. They give their machines good to excellent core drive system parts depending upon the cost of the model.
Company Outlook:Nautilus has lasted longer than we expected. Their future is still cloudy but from an outsider's standpoint, they appear to have the best financial management in the business. We also understand that they want to get out of everything except marketing direct to the consumer without the use of distributors or retailers. The direct model can work well if they can get the product right. Nautilus has been in a freefall over the last year but have beat many people’s predictions that they would collapse…that said, they have also been beaten by the market and competitors like a rented mule so we’ll see what the future holds for them.
