I believe that the X3 was inserted in to LifeFitness' lineup of ellipticals to encourage people to either buy the X1 or the X5. Standing alone this machine doesn't make a whole lot of sense. Do yourself a favor, if you are looking at this go ahead and step up and buy the X5 or X8. You'll be happy that you did.
