Our new and improved troubleshooting section was carefully constructed to put the power to repair your machine in your hands. As you can tell, we have put a great deal of time and effort into the process. All of this can save you the cost of a service call which is approaching $150 in many markets and in many cases, we can save you the cost of parts since many parts are sold from factories unnecessarily (many parts cost over $100 alone). With all of this said, if our troubleshooting tips help you out, please donate to keep this info on the web and so we can continue to add to it for your future use. As we get the funds, we will start to post video helps too. If this info helps you, please click on the donate button and donate to help us expand and maintain our troubleshooting help. Donations are NOT tax deductable.

My End Cap is Cracked

A poor design that was widely used until just a year or two ago was the practice of putting all the strain of the belt tension on a plastic piece at the back of the treadmill.

With all of this pressure, if someone accidentally kicked the endcap or stepped on it, it can cause the area where the bolts slide through the cap to crack and not hold the resistance.  Eventually as you tighten the belt (because the belt will not track properly now), the bolts pull through the plastic.

Until now, you had to replace the poor design with another of the same design.  Now, Treadmill Doctor's engineers have developed a simple, yet elegant solution with our endcap fixkits.  We are in the process of developing kits for as many of the most common end caps as possible.

Right now, endcaps like the Icon 136880 and the same design sold as 132218 that has been discontinued and other endcaps that are in the process of being discontinued like the 113182, 113183 or 120975, we have kits to fix these.

We also have developed kits to fix the large NordicTrack endcaps and all that use part number 174490 and 174491, we have a fixkit for them.

We also have kits for many of the common Proform, Reebok, Image, and Weslo machines that have both wide and narrow belts.  These endcap kits fix endcaps with part numbers of 137632, 155809, 155836, 155837, 155997, 157887, 161566 for the narrow belts and 156817, 156818, 156819, 157004, and 161702.

You may ask, “what's so great about these kits?”  Good question- and it has a good answer which is that these are a permanent fix.  Made from computer manufactured and finished solid steel, they will never break and they are custom designed for your original endcap to fit right over the broken area and solve the problem.  That's why we give the fixkit a lifetime guarantee.
