General Information: Cybex was formerly known as Trotter. Trotter merged with Cybex several years ago but now their products are branded with the Cybex name. Heavy duty construction and heavy duty prices are their hallmarks.  Several years ago Cybex introduced a new product based on an elliptical design concept and frankly it has been a hit.  The Arc Trainer has been on of the primary reasons that Cybex was able to pull out of the financial slump that they were in.

Manufacturing Philosophy: Cybex has always built heavy, high quality machines and then priced them like they were made out of gold.  Those who have owned old Trotter and Cybex machines can tell you that they will last for a long, long time if they are maintained so they are putting quality into the product.

Company Outlook: Since restructuring its debt, Cybex is in a much better position to continue as a viable company in the foreseeable future.  They have had heavy competition from Lifefitness and Nautilus in the commercial arena along with many lower-priced competitors but it looks like they are finally back on their feet again.
